In a study, Michael Donnino, MD (Emergency Medicine, BIDMC) and colleagues compared the impact of COVID-19 to that of influenza at BIDMC. The team found the number of patient deaths and their need for ventilators was much higher during the two months analyzed of COVID-19, compared to during five seasons of influenza over 40 months.
